James Lee, MD – Medical Director of Penn Lung Transplantation Program, Current Wharton Executive MBA candidate

Dr. James Lee is the medical director of the Penn lung transplant program. Appointed in 2011, he started pursuing an MBA degree at Wharton as part of the Class of 2020. Come hear about the lung transplant program at Penn and some of its recent development, as well as the application of an MBA in academic leadership.

Dr. Lee earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Harvard University and completed medical school at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His education continued with the Internal Medicine Residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He then returned to the University of Pennsylvania in 2004 to complete the Pulmonary/Critical fellowship training. Dr. Lee joined the Lung Transplant Program in 2008, when he first started serving patients as a transplant pulmonologist. In 2011, he was appointed to the leadership position of associate medical director of the Lung Transplant program.
